Recycled PP
rPP
Packaging in rPP is produced by collecting plastic packaging in PP, grinding down into granules and being produced again. rPP is often used in packaging such as buckets and bottles.
Recycled PET
rPET
The PET packaging that is collected and turned into granules is used to produce new packaging in rPET. The most common packaging in rPET is plastic bottles and jars with screw caps.
Recycled PE
rPE
The PE material is recycled and becomes rPE, usually we see packaging in the form of bottles and cans when it comes to recycled PE.
Post industrial recycle (PIR)
The PIR material is the remnants of what does not become finished packaging. It can be a matter of incorrect production, color shifts when changing colors, complaints and similar residues. This is ground down again and can later become new packaging. Here there are some restrictions in the choice of color and the plastic is no longer food-grade in PP and PE because it is difficult to trace the material.
Post consumer recycle (PCR)
The PCR material is plastic that has been collected from consumers. This plastic is sorted, ground down and processed into new plastic. Here, too, there are major restrictions on what colors can be offered and the plastic is no longer food-approved in PP and PE. There are quite a few variants and blends of this material, so it is important to experiment to find the mix that best suits each product.
Recycled Polyethylene (rPE)
RPE is a general term we use for PE that has been collected from consumers, ground down and turned into new plastic. At present, it is generally not food approved. rPE often has a distinct smell of detergent or perfume. It is possible to get transparent rPE, but it is quite milky in tone.
Recycled Polyethylene Terephthalate (rPET)
rPET is the name for PET that has been collected from consumers, ground down and turned into new plastic. RPET can be obtained as it has very good traceability thanks to the widespread deposit system of soda and mineral water bottles.
Transparent rPET has a greyish tint that is not so visible once the product is filled.
