The witch's enchanting bottle
Where sustainability, design and functionality meet
When the Häxan brand needed a new bottle for their range of liquid cleaning products, they approached us to develop a bespoke design that combined sustainability, functionality and a unique brand identity. Based on the customer's wishes, we developed various design proposals and renderings until we found the perfect solution together. The result was a custom PET bottle made from 50% recycled material (rPET), designed to fit the Witch's own peaks and triggers while meeting the requirements for the Nordic Swan Ecolabel.
About the Witch
Häxan has been a well-known brand in household cleaning since 1913. Today, the company offers a wide range of natural and effective cleaning products that are developed with a focus on the environment, health and quality. The products are made with biodegradable ingredients, circular plastics and local production, which helps to reduce environmental impact. Häxan's vision is to create non-toxic and responsible cleaning solutions that combine tradition and modern sustainability thinking.
The challenge
The witch contacted us with the need to develop our own bottle design for several liquid cleaning products. They wanted a special shape that could be linked to the brand, while the bottle needed to meet functional requirements to fit existing peaks and triggers. In addition, the packaging was required to consist of 50% rPET, be made of monomaterial (PET) and meet the Nordic Swan Ecolabel's environmental requirements. Design, durability and practicality simply needed to go hand in hand.
Our solution
We developed various bottle renderings and design suggestions based on the Witch's wishes and product needs. This resulted in a distinctive shape with a transparent, slightly dyed finish that lifted the bottle's appearance on the shelf, and it could also be easily labelled thanks to its smooth surface. The neck was adapted to the triggers and caps Häxan wanted to use, and the bottle was developed in monomaterial made of PET with 50% rPET to promote circularity and meet the requirements for the Nordic Swan Ecolabel.
The result
The result was a tailor-made bottle that met all requirements for design, functionality and eco-labelling. The bottle currently works for several of Häxan's cleaning products and is Nordic Ecolabelled according to current guidelines.
